Peeling back, putting down,
piling up, pushing around.
Yard work isn't really hard work,
even if it's the toughest that we do.
Tearing apart, tacking under,
tying across, tripping over.
Spring calls for so much effort
we barely make it through.
Carrying away, cooking for,
cashing in, calling forth.
Work for any season, even Spring,
but cleaning is the work that's true.
